DOUG PENDLETON MEMORIAL HOVERIN - August 2014

Yes, memories were discussed of Doug and Charles and many former Muscoda visitors.  And little did we expect the awesome weekend we were given to hover riverwide!  Here's a synopsis of my pics, and I'd love to get more pics from everyone who also took them.  To me, tho, the big hit was BEN, the Bullmastif, owned by Kathy and David Timmerman who traveled 2000 miles to be at this hoverin!  KUDDOS TO THE TIMMERMANS for the furthest drive - you two are awesome!!!

 Verdon Weber and Nikko
Randy Loveland and George Moon from MI
Dennis Alm - MN leaving the dock
John Windt - WI - beautiful hovercraft
Introducing Nikko to the 'pack'. It was a true Cesar Milan moment as he just relegated to being submissive - no more pack leader in him! Hooray!
The 3 pooches belong to the Timmermans, a golden lab, a whippet cross, and Ben the Bullmastif - a retired blue ribbon owner!
 Gentle Ben - gorgeous!
Dubbed our MASCOT for this hoverin - GENTLE BEN
Ready to leave - David and Kathy Timmerman
New owner of the former Pink Lady - Randy Loveland
And YES - that is a full size StarCruiser - it's an illusion
because Randy is 6'9" tall.
John Windt and Verdon Weber
Kathy T. photo shoots of the crafts getting their skirts wet
Sand bar stop for Randy and George
Just cruisin'
 Dennis Alm - MN
Larry and Julie Kirschbaum

Michael Courtney - IA

Spring Green WI landing
   Long shot of hydro dam
 Verdon towing jetski
We encountered this downed jet ski in the back waters near Lone Rock. The lady had been thrown out and lost consciousness and they had waited 1 hr. for anyone to come by. Verdon got them hooked up for a tow and later Mike Courtney took both passengers separately to lighten Verdon's load and he did obtain cushion then. — with Verdon Weber.

Until the fall hoverin........

UPDATED: LOCAL DNR says to just stay on the water!

Feeling satisfied that the CG is furloughed and not about to run us down, we left for Guttenberg today with Vernon and his craft also.  We all ate at Joe's Pizza Place and the best ice cream afterwards and slowly walked the river walk back to the boat landing.  It is not a short jaunt but well worth going.  Here are pics of our day on the Mississippi (below Guttenberg dam).

And being a Weber, undauntedly explores the back areas!

I think it's time for a color cruise on the Wisconsin!
We weren't alone on the river either; fishermen.

A great deal of new area closed to water fowl hunting.
If you are interested in getting a cruise together on the Wis. or Miss., let's do a color cruise!!
